Polizei M40 DD Combat Helmet – SE64

Polizei double decal M40 combat helmet. The helmet retains most of its field-grey paint, the paint is showing scratches and normal traces of usage. Both decals are in very good condition with some minor damage and scratches caused by usage. The leather liner is size 57 marked (barely readable). All three liner retaining rivets are intact. The leather is in good condition, the liner is complete with original liner-cord. The shell is marked with maker and size SE64 what indicates the production by the Sächsische Emaillier und Stanzwerke from Lauter. The reverse interior neck guard apron has a stamped serial number 7868. The helmet is complete with its original chinstrap, the chinstrap is nicely maker marked DLWP and dated 1943, the short buckle strap is half broken (see last photo).
