Hastings & Prince Edward Regt – Battle Dress Jacket 1941
Original WWII Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment (Hasty P.) battle dress jacket. This is an early wartime Canadian battle dress blouse which is hard to find, worn by a Captain, is manufactured by S&G Clothing Co. Ltd., Montreal, and dated 1941. It is a Size 13 and features early plastic closure buttons marked “Canadian Button Montreal.” The early jackets were fitted with a label besides the maker’s stamp, label is still present but unfortunately unreadable, though a clear maker’s stamp from S&G Clothing remains visible. All insignia are original period-applied, including: A pair of early English-made embroidered shoulder titles for the Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment, red melton 1st Canadian Infantry Division formation patches, and Captain’s rank pips on both epaulettes.
This is a well-preserved example of a hard to find early Canadian battle dress blouse to a Captain in the Hastings & Prince Edward Regiment.
