Clandestine Radio Receiver – Sweetheart Type 31/1

Clandestine radio receiver, type 31/1 also known as Sweetheart.  Was a miniature valve-based clandestine receiver, developed in 1943 by the Norwegian Willy Simonsen, for use by the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) during WW2. Approx. 50,000 units were manufactured by Hale Electric Co. Ltd in London (UK), that were dropped over occupied Europe, in particular in France and Norway. This example has the Operating Instruction in Norwegian. The frequency adjustment is replaced at some point. This set is in good condition and consist of twisted cable with earphones, power cable, battery box, receiver and antenna wire. The only missing parts are ground wire and operating instruction.

Very hard to find, great item and easy to display because its small size.
