Canadian Armoured Beret – Dorothea 1945

WW2 Canadian black coloured beret as worn by Royal Canadian Armoured Corps (armoured personnel). The Canadian army adopted the beret in 1943. This beret is maker marked Dorothea Knitting Mills, Toronto. Dated 1945, size 7 1/8. Two holes for cap badge present. Field worn condition, shows several damages on the inside, and some loose stitching on the leather. Much harder to find than a British made RAC beret.

Description

This is an orginal WW2 Royal Canadian Armoured Corps beret (tank beret). The Canadian army adopted the beret in 1943. The very first RCAC (black) berets where only marked with the C stamp. Later in 1943 they were issued with the factory maker markings. Hard to find Canadian WW2 beret.
The beret appears in good used condition. Lugs for a capbadge present.
