British Battle Jerkin – D-Day

Hard to find WW2 British Battle-Jerkin. The Battle Jerkin and was developed in 1942 by Colonel Rivers-MacPherson for the British Army and introduced in 1943. History has it that he disliked the Pattern 37 web gear in common use at the time and took the opportunity to design something he thought more efficient. The brown Battle-Jerkins were heavily issued to British and Canadian assault troops of the 21st Army Group. They were made till 1944. This Battle-Jerkin is in good used condition. Maker marked by M & Co. date is not readable  but we know they were made till 1944. This Battle-Jerkin’s smallpack is missing two wooden toggles (two would have been on the inside, so not visible at all) and on wooden toggle for the Entrenchingtool pouch is missing. Strings for gascape/poncho are present on both shoulders. This Battle-Jerkin shows nice traces of wear and looks fantastic on display!
