7th Armoured Division, Royal Corps of Signals – Battle Dress

WW2 Battle Dress of the Royal Corps of Signals in the 7th Armoured Division. This is a Canadian manufacturing battledress, as worn by a British soldier, something we see often in the British army as the Canadian made uniforms were popular due their wool quality. The jacket is in good, worn condition with original wartime sewn insignia. Both sleeves have flashes of the Royal Corps of Signals and the 7th Armoured Division patches with Arm of Service strips in Blue White for Signals. The ‘Army Council Instruction 1207’ dated September 9 1944 changed the wording from Royal Corps of Signals to Royal Signals which indicates the sewing of the insignia in September 1944 earliest. The battledress is dated 1944 and size 10 marked.
