6th (Royal Welsh) Parachute Battalion – Leonard Lewis ‘Killed in Action’


Original WW2 grouping to the 6th (Royal Welsh) Parachute Battalion, Private Leonard Lewis, son of John E and Rose H Lewis, of Holt, Derbyshire, served with 6th (Royal Welch) Parachute Battalion. He took part in the North African campaign, during Operation Torch. Private Lewis died on 10 September 1943, aged 22 years old. He is now commemorated on the Memorial at Medjez-el-Bab War Cemetery, Tunisia. This grouping consists of the following medals: 1939-1945 Star РThe Africa Star РThe Italy Star and War Medal. Death notice to his parents in March 1944. A letter from Buckingham Palace. And two original pictures.
